Horse welfare

Horse welfarethe

The rider's success is to get the horse to love his job.

The ego of humans is probably one of the horse's great enemies.

Horses are prey animals, this does not show pain like predators, people who work with them must be very alert to avoid any physical or mental damage.

Horse health

Mouth check

At least once a year it is necessary for a good professional to check our horses' mouths to avoid any discomfort.

Equipment setting

It is vital that all the equipment we use in training the horse fits perfectly: saddle, halster, bit, protectors etc.

Adequate food

We must advise ourselves by professionals to choose the right food for our horse, this will have an impact on their physical health and also on their behavior.

Veterinary

We recommend having a trusted veterinarian, who will be like your GP and will advise us of the care that each particular horse needs.

Loose horses! Please!

Ttraditionally the most expensive horses have been "kept" in tightly closed and "safe" stables, to avoid injuries, injuries, etc.
However, it is well proven that horses stable 24 hours a day, develop a multitude of behavioral disorders, diseases, injuries, colic, etc.
The ideal state for any horse would be to be in small groups, wandering through large areas of varied terrain with access to water and shade. This is sometimes complicated, especially for saddle and sport horses, who need a food ration adapted to their weight, condition and activity. The coexistence of the pack is complicated when we have to administer concentrated feed and some horses eat more than others. That is why in many cases we need to have a stable in which to be able to isolate each animal so that it receives its ration and provide an extra rest. However, in most horse riding it is possible to enable some padocks where you can release the horses for at least a few hours a day. Preferably during the cleaning of the boxes, to avoid breathing the dust that is generated. Our horses will thank us!

These are some of the professionals we have forto everything related to the welfare of our horses:

Footwork and stretching

We must never forget that nature did not create the horse to be ridden, so if we want the muscles of our horse to be properly developed, we must work one or two days a week without weight, and after riding it, whenever it is possible to do a stretch phase.

Hacking outside

Dressage horses is a track discipline, but it is essential to include in our training program one or two days of work per week in the country. In this way we will not only be able to relax and get used to different stimuli, we will also be developing the muscles necessary to perform all the exercises, in a much more effective way.
Through the field we can improve the passage of our horse, which is a very difficult air to work on the track, it also helps a lot to improve the rectitude, the desire to move forward and the drive.
Going up and down slopes we will achieve a lot of strength in the back third and favor a good balance.
